Unionized workers at 35 corporate-owned Giant Eagle supermarket locations in Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia have ratified a four-year contract.
The United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1776, which represents workers in the food and retail industries, announced Monday that union members ratified the contract on July 21 and 22.
The new agreement covers about 5,300 workers and includes improved wages and benefits for members as well non-discrimination protections for gender, gender expression and gender identity, the union said.
