Back in October, Rite Aid announced that it was filing for bankruptcy to help it get on firmer financial footing. As part of this endeavor, the pharmacy chain also announced that it would be closing stores across the country, which it did throughout the remainder of 2023, including in October and November.

Now, Rite Aid has announced the closure of an additional 55 stores, according to January 2024 court filings (reported earlier by Mass Live). These additional store closures will affect locations in 14 states, with California, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania being hit the hardest.
